How to make this easy prawn salad

This prawn mango and avocado salad is a great dish for summer. It's served cold and no cooking needed.

  1. Peel and de vein the prawns

2. Cut a criss cross pattern with your knife into the mango cheek.

3. Turn the mango flesh inside out by pushing on the skin. Remove the diced mango flesh with a spoon.

4. Mix all the ingredients together well in a bowl.

Serve as a main salad or as a side dish

A very refreshing yet completely satisfying dish. A well balanced salad that can be enjoyed as a complete meal on its own, or the perfect side dish to a summer BBQ.

Hint: Because this is a simple dish where the ingredients shine, it's crucial to use good quality and fresh ingredients. The prawns (shrimps) should be wild caught and the mango and avocado should be fresh and perfectly ripe.

The natural sweetness from the mango and richness from the avocado pairs perfectly with the succulent prawns. The chili and lemon juice gives the salad a burst of vibrancy.

Substitutes and Variations

  • You can substitute the prawns for crab meat, lobster or crayfish meat.
  • Add sliced fresh peppers (capsicums) for extra crunch.
